"French Impressionism" is an exhibition dedicated to the work of artists who founded their own direction in the XIX century. The Artplay media Digital Art Center collected multimedia copies of the main works of French creators, who decided to challenge the centuries-old traditions of academicism.

In the 1860s, a group of artists, tired of precise lines, an emphasis on craftsmanship and typical historical, antique and biblical subjects, wanted to find their own way of development. Thanks to them, French impressionism became not only a direction of painting, but also a whole set of methods. The artists sought to convey the beauty of everyday life and capture a single moment that they observed themselves. To do this, the painters went outside, refusing to create in the studios. This method led to the main motive of most paintings – landscape. Each painter added something of his own and diluted the images of the street with simple everyday subjects - ordinary workers or walking people.

The exhibition "French Impressionism" gives the audience the chance to see the work of artists whose paintings contemporaries refused to buy. The very name of their style initially took on a disparaging character and was coined by critics. Many of them died without waiting for recognition. Projections will help you see the festive scenes that Pierre Auguste Renoir loved, or get into the natural and urban landscapes of one of the founders – Claude Monet. The viewer will get acquainted with both the main representatives of impressionism, who stand at the origins, and with creators with a non-classical view of this direction, for example, Edgar Degas and Paul Signac. Paintings by Henri de Toulouse –Lautrec, Paul Gauguin, Henri Rousseau, Vincent van Gogh and other French impressionists who were not afraid to depart from conventional academicism will come to life before the eyes of visitors.

Colorful projections will allow you to see the influence of Japanese engraving and photography on style, as well as plunge into the atmosphere of 19th century France. The Impressionists depicted absolutely everyone, conveying the versatility of the daily life of the city. They did not raise philosophical and social issues, preferring colorful moments of everyday life. The predominance of only positive subjects led to a split in the direction and, at the same time, an impetus for the development of art of the XIX century.

The exhibition "French Impressionism" lets you capture the mood that the artists tried to convey with careless strokes. They focused on lighting, angle of view, dynamics, and the state of airiness. Projectors display images on the walls and floor, which literally immerses the viewer into the world of bright canvases, demonstrating in detail the transitions of saturated shades, light and shadow. Multimedia exhibitions are a modern way of exploring art and history, which gives a new emotional experience and makes visiting galleries an educational entertainment.
