А new multimedia exhibition "Matisse. Picasso" dedicated to the two artists who were at the origin of many significant events in twentieth-century painting.

For a long time Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso were considered almost direct opposites in art. However, a new exhibition shows that these generalizations are not entirely true; in fact, both artists were part of the same artistic process.

It is believed that Matisse and Picasso met in the spring of 1906. Matisse was already well known by then, while Picasso was just taking his first steps on the Parisian art scene. Between the artists immediately arose a friendship that lasted a lifetime. They knew each other's works well and borrowed much from them.

Fascination with the art of other countries -African for Picasso and Persian for Matisse – are turn to a childish, "unspoiled" view of the world (collages mortally ill Matisse and late "flat" sculptures of Picasso), the image of the female body - all this shows how close were the ideas of the two artists, how closely each of them followed what the other does.

Picasso said this about his relationship with Matisse: "We must communicate with each other as much as possible. When one of us dies, the other will simply not be able to discuss certain matters with anyone else".

More than a hundred works by both artists, presented in multimedia format at the exhibition at Artplay media, make it clear that this dialog was a godsend.
