On February 15 and 16, at the Artplay Media Digital Art Center a unique event is taking place: The Japanese drummers show AKATSUKI Drums will perform at a multimedia exhibition dedicated to the Japanese art.

The performance starts on February 15 at 18:00 and 20:00, on February 16 at 18:00 and 20:00.

The art of Japan has never sounded so loud!

Now the audience will have a chance to get acquainted not only with the visual arts of Japan, but also with music. Powerful taiko drum beats will blow up the air and shake the walls, they will carry the audience along the musical waves from strict temple tradition to rocking modern rhythms!

AKATSUKI drummers will play their best parts in the walls of Artplay Media.

The history of musical compositions using taiko drums is connected with the attempt of Buddhist monks to improvise on temple drums.

The expression, rhythmicity, synchronicity of movements achieved as a result of many hours of training turn the performances of the drummers into an enchanting show that will appeal to even the most strict connoisseur of Japanese musical culture. 

Thanks to the multimedia space with a 360-degree viewing angle, viewers will be able to move to the Edo era, where Katsushik Hokusai's paintings and engravings will not only come to life, but also acquire a unique sound. Taiko drum rhythms will take the guests of the evening to the coast, where you can see a Big Wave and breathe in the salty Victorious Wind, hear birds singing at the foot of Fuji and follow the flight of Cranes to the noise of Ono Waterfall...

At the end of the evening, the multimedia exhibition "Art of Japan" will introduce guests to such masters of Japanese engraving as Katsushika Hokusai, and also with works that are little known to the general public: female portraits of the "last guru of the Ukiyo-e era" Yoshitoshi Tsukioka and landscape engravings by Imao Kainen from the private gallery of the Russian collector and expert of Japanese culture Ekaterina Pugacheva.
